Do you need a license to drive a Motorbike, Moped or Scooter? 

Your driving license for a car will not cover you on a bike, you will need to have passed the compulsory basic training in order to legally drive a motorbike but we can help you with this. You must be at least 17 to be eligible to drive a motorbike. When learning to drive a moped you can be as young as 16, again you must complete and pass the initial training. 

When buying a Motorbike, Scooter or Moped you must have one of the following 3 licenses. 

• A provisional motorbike license and pass the CBT.  
• If you have a full license prior to 2001 you are eligible to ride a 50cc moped without taking any additional tests. 
• A full moped license and pass the CBT. 

When buying a Motorbike from Belle Vue Motors we can provide you with a 1-day training course to allow you to achieve the correct license for you to drive your new motorbike. This will allow you to ride a motorbike up to 125cc.
